Introducing the DocEditor and her many helpful colleagues.
About the DocEditor
Hello there. I'm Cathy Tingle and, as my title suggests, I’m a doctor and an editor. After gaining my PhD in English from the University of Leeds I worked for a decade in communications in the heart of London. In 2011 I became editor of Edinburgh for Under Fives, a popular guidebook for parents and carers. I also took on other freelance writing and editing work, ranging from producing punchy copy for construction businesses to penning a column in a parenting magazine, from editing research reports to proofreading academic theses. I've copy-edited more than 70 textbooks for Routledge, Palgrave and other publishers, in subjects from law to film studies, business to social work.

You could say that words are my thing.

In addition to my PhD I have postgraduate qualifications in marketing from the CIM and the IDM. I am also an Advanced Professional Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders.

Slightly obsessive about doing a good job, I like to think that every project I accept is completed to an excellent standard. But don’t just take my word for it. If you’re after a second opinion, here are my testimonials.
